Hey all, just about done with my new looking but old pair of Nike running shoes. My feet kill me after doing calves, squats and legs presses. What shoes do you all use for lifting heavy? Thanks!

I actually lift in socks. Calfraises hurt like a bitch in the beginning but now its all good.

I like real flat shoes for most of my lifting, like low profile Pumas. Then I use Inov8 shoes with a lifted sole on leg day. I've got really poor flexibility in my calves and have a hard time going deep while keeping a shoulder width stance so that helps

I bet you'd love the Metcons.

Reebok Nano. Pretty much perfect shoe for weight training and very good for squats because of very hard material everywhere.

I use Adipower's for squatting. Asics low-top Onitsuka for other leg exercises. Usually Nike Flyknit's for everything else. I deadlift in socks.

I love doing my workouts especially anything where i am grounded with wrestling shoes. I am currently using a pair of Nike wrestling shoes but before that i was training in asics wrestling shoes. Nothing beats the lightweight durable and flat sole that gives you a great connection to the floor and a support for a strong base while lifting.
